A few days ago KIA motors confirmed the launch of a new SUV, a new crossover that will be placed, below the KIA Sportage and the KIA Stonic. Then, the Korean brand showed us a couple of sketches but did not tell us what this little crossover would be called. Now KIA has confirmed their new SUV will be called KIA Seltos which will have 140hp and will be available for sale by the end of 2019.
The Kia Seltos takes the name of the character of Greek mythology, Celtos, son of Hercules. Celtos like his father is known by his enormous strength which is said to be mirrored in Kia's new crossover SUV. However, the automaker chose to change the "C" for the "S" as according to Kia it will refer to speed and sportsmanship. In addition, it will also help the Seltos comes in line with Soul, Sportage, and Sorento all starting with the letter S.
Byung Chil Juh, Kia Motor's Style Manager, said that they had created a car that stands out anywhere, from the city to the countryside and that the new compact SUV is a proposal that will not match any other car in its category.
After announcing that it will have a sport utility to compete with Jeep Renegade and Hyundai Crete, the Korean manufacturer has published the first photo Kia Seltos. The brand claims to have designed the Seltos thinking of the desires of younger consumers, the millennials. This made the car have a bold exterior style with generous internal space and ideal technology package so that its occupants are always connected and enjoying their tech.
With a well-crafted look, the Kia Seltos will draw attention to its full LED headlights with LED daytime running lights just below the main lenses. The 'Tiger Nose' grille is well-styled, while the bumper has upright LED fog lights.
It also features a straight roof and almost straight columns and also features stylized C-columns with chrome trim finishes, as well as two-tone paint and side rails. The LED flashlights have individual beams and a chrome bar that supports small backlights.
